Bathroom Remodel

A Radnor Bathroom, Expanded and Opened to the Ceiling

Recently renovated but still not right, the room lacked the layout, openness, and custom feel the homeowner wanted. We expanded it into two closets behind it and added a vaulted ceiling, turning a closed-in bathroom into an open, architectural space.

Project Overview

A Closer Look At The Finished Space

The Project

Borrowing Space and Height to Open the Room Up

The bathroom had already been renovated recently, but it still didn’t work for the homeowner. The layout felt closed-in, it lacked the custom feel they wanted, and it wasn’t using the space available right behind it. A surface-level redo wouldn’t fix that. The room needed to physically grow.

We gutted the bathroom and redesigned it around expansion and openness:

Demolished two closets behind the bathroom to enlarge the footprint
Created a vaulted ceiling to add height and a stronger architectural feature
Replanned the layout to make full use of the reclaimed space

With the room opened up, we brought in the finishes: a wall-to-wall custom shampoo niche, large-format tile on the back and side walls, vertically installed subway tile, a custom vanity, and a chandelier chosen to complement the new vaulted ceiling.

It’s a clear example of going beyond cosmetic work, layout correction, space expansion, ceiling modification, and coordinated custom finishes, to deliver a bathroom that feels more open, functional, and complete than the footprint originally allowed.

Our Process

A More Organized Way To Remodel

Every AZGC Homes project begins long before demolition starts. Our process opens with discovery: understanding your home, how your family actually uses it, and where you want to be long term. We build a complete project roadmap before construction begins, so the work runs with clearer scheduling and fewer surprises.

Our coordination model keeps every trade, design, plumbing, electrical, and finish carpentry, under a single point of accountability. You get regular progress updates, clear milestone sign-offs, and direct access to your project manager through the whole build.

Communication is built into the process, not added on. When homeowners stay informed and involved, the result is simply better.

I would definitely recommend AZ General Contracting for home improvement projects. They did good work for the price that was quoted and were quick and reliable. They were very helpful while onsite.

Alban & his crew completed a full basement remodel for us, including framing, electrical, a complete bathroom build-out, mini split installation, and custom built-ins. The quality of the workmanship and attention to detail really stood out, and the entire project was handled professionally and efficiently from start to finish.

What impressed me most is that two years later, when we experienced a water meter leak, Alban immediately stepped in to help. He coordinated with his team of public adjusters and the remediation crew and managed the insurance claim process from beginning to end. He took what could have been a very stressful situation and handled it seamlessly. It’s clear he stands behind his work and truly takes care of his clients long after the project is complete.

We had to get our tall cabinets customized to have them wrap a sewer line inside. Craftsmanship was exceptional and attention to detail was so precise! I also REALLY appreciated that they left their work spaces so clean, which I have come to learn that not all contractors do this. The way they cared for every part of the process felt like they were installing the cabinet for a their own home.

So happy with the results!!!🤩🤩🤩

I would definitely recommend Alban and the team at AZ General Contracting. I worked with him on 2 projects thus far, 1 bath rebuid/retile, and 1 patio rebuild with pavers. His team did clean work on both jobs and at a reasonable price! Alban is involved every step of the way making sure that the project is progressing smoohtly and always keeping you informed. I certainly plan to continue working with Alban and the team at AZ General contracting on various projects in the future!

We had a great experience working with Alban during a significant rebuild after a flood. Price was reasonable, he provided us with various options, and he was very responsive to questions and changes to work orders. The work was on schedule and he was flexible with us as we worked with our insurance company to cover costs. We highly recommend him and his team.

Alban and his team were consistent and reliable! I love my new bathroom and now Alban has refinished our basement! His team is always timely and his work is impeccable. We couldn't be happier with the transformations of both spaces that Alban and his team have created for our home. He was even kind enough to store our pool table for 5 weeks in his warehouse while work was completed. I highly recommend AZ General Contracting.

I would highly recommend AZ General Contracting. They have now completed our basement renovation after doing our primary bathroom in December. We couldn't be happier with the final product. AZ General Contracting went above and beyond on our project. They finished within the time that was estimated even with bumps in the road. They worked weekends and long hours to get everything finished just the way we asked. Alban is professional, fair, and will work with you even when you come up with new ideas midway through the project. He was even kind enough to store our pool table in his warehouse the entire 5 weeks of the project. We highly recommend Alban and his company.

Working with AZ General Contracting has been a smooth process in what I could call a hectic and overwhelming time! After discovering a leak in our primary bathroom, Alban was at our house within two days of contacting the company for help. We began the process within days and I have had full confidence in him and the team since day 1. Alban even connected us with a public adjuster who has been helping us with an insurance claim. Everyone who has worked here has been polite, efficient, and have kept our house as clean as possible under some challenging circumstances.
